Roblox reaches 150 million players per month – Overcoming Minecraft to claim the king

Referring to the game with the largest number of players in the virtual world, we often think of Minecraft but forgot Roblox – a worthy opponent, even surpassing Minecraft to claim the king. As of May 2020, Minecraft has about 126 million monthly players while Roblox has up to 150 million.

Roblox is a game platform that allows players to create and share their own games. The game is especially aimed at young gamers, aged 10 and up. Players are provided with all the necessary tools to build a open world own, from building houses, racing, shooting, fighting,…

Similar to Minecraft, Roblox encourages the player’s imagination and creativity. Of course, Roblox’s graphics can’t match the top blockbusters now, but this is suitable for young gamers. However, according to a recent study, more than half of children in the US play Roblox, the game is considered an effective means to keep them at home when the Covid-19 situation is complicated.

One of the reasons why Roblox is so attractive is that it pays community developers. The company says that in 2020, the platform’s developers can earn up to $250 million, more than double the $110 million figure in 2019.
