Veteran Counter-Strike player Wiktor “TaZ” Wojitas will be absent from a Valve Major event for the first time in his life.

TaZ’s Polish team Team Kinguin was dropped from the race for the FACIE London Major yesterday. The team lost to Sprout Esports and Red Reserve in the group stage of the European Minor, officially being eliminated from the 13th Valve Major event in history.

This is quite a heartbreaking moment in CS:GO history because TaZ has attended every Major before with the same roster, Virtus.pro, before he was kicked from the team this past February. VP also lost the oldest cohesive roster in CS:GO. Despite playing together for more than four years, the team was forced to “change blood” due to poor performance from the beginning of 2017. A quick 0-3 defeat at the previous Major, ELEAGUE Boston, was the last straw, making VP had to change the lineup not long after.

Now, only Filip “NEO” Kubski, Jaroslaw “pashaBiceps” Jarzabkowski, and Pawel “byali” Bielinski are the remaining mainstay members of VP. Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski also left the team last month to join Mousesports, but Snax has yet to make a big splash.

TaZ doesn’t seem too worried about missing the London Major before Kinguin is eliminated. He admits the European Minor will be difficult and admits he may not be able to qualify for the Major.

Below is a list of players who have attended every CS:GO Valve Major tournament in history. This list only shows the name of the team that the players are playing for at the moment.

  • Virtus Pro: NEO, pashaBiceps, byali
  • Mousesports: Snax
  • Fnatic: Jesper “JW” Wecksell, Robin “flusha” Ronnquist, and Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson
  • FaZe Clan: Olof “olofmeister” Kjabjer
  • Astralis: Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Peter “dupreeh” Rothmann, and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth
  • Natus Vincere: Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko
  • G2 Esports: Richard “shox” Papillon

Not only is TaZ the only player to miss the first Major, Denis “seized” Kostin and Nathan “NBK” Schmitt have been benched in recent months, also will not be attending the FACEIT London Major when the tournament kicks off on May 5. this September.
