PUBG promulgates a law regulating the age and nationality of players to compete from 2019

PUBG Corp is about to add some new rules to prepare for PUBG’s eSports segment in 2019.

From 2019, PUBG Esports will apply the following global rules to all professional PUBG tournaments:

  • Any player under the age of 18 is not allowed to participate.
  • Each squad must include at least 3 legal citizens or permanent residents from that region.

With the globalization plan, age and citizenship restrictions have to be added to simplify travel in upcoming international events. However, the weakness of these two regulations is that the team lineup will be weaker.

Esports is a global activity, and while we always have strong national teams, a multinational lineup in an international environment is an advantage that many teams in many games take advantage of. With Battle Royale entering the esports phase, many are concerned that PUBG is limiting itself and that these regulations will prevent professional teams from choosing the members the organization wants for them. As a result, teams will become weaker due to these limitations.
