Choujin X – Tokyo Ghoul’s new gore manga is rated on par with Attack on Titan

After many years of disappearance, the author Ishida Sui has officially returned to readers of the same series manga new – Choujin X. The Choujin X manga will launch in Shueisha’s Tonari No Young Jump, and will also be available in Manga Plus and Viz starting May 11, 2021.

Choujin X is the story of Azuma Higashi, a pretty famous guy who doesn’t have the advantage of being tall, but in return he possesses good fighting skills and undying belief in justice. Besides, Higashi also has a remarkable academic record, always being a good student with top grades in the class. In stark contrast to Azuma Higashi is Tokio Kurohara, his classmate. Kurohara was the unremarkable person in the class, he was always on the sidelines when Higashi was risking his life to fight. However, the friendship of the two is extremely strong, despite the contrasts in personality and appearance.

The couple lived together in Yamato Prefecture, a place that couldn’t be more normal with the area destroyed by Choujin in some places. Choujin are humans but have dangerous supernatural powers, often causing destruction of the surrounding environment. Once on the way home, Azuma and Tokio were attacked by a Choujin, both of them had no choice but to become… Choujin in search of a chance to survive. After becoming Choujin, Tokio gradually gets caught up in many troubles, completely turning his peaceful life upside down.

After releasing the first chapter, Choujin X received many positive reviews. Many people think that the author has improved in both the content and the illustration, even many people think that Choujin X is enough to fill the gap of the author. Attack on Titan left after this survival manga ends.

In particular, the Choujin X manga will not be released periodically like Tokyo Ghouls which will be released when the author finishes drawing, just like One Punch Man.
