PUBG Corp. Announcement of a surprise decision regarding the newest map in PUBG, Sanhok. This 4×4 km “mini royale” map will not rank matches by skill. Instead, all players, regardless of skill level, will be placed in the same match. Sanhok will air on PC on June 22nd.
The reason for this decision was not a technical error. PUBG Corp. want the match in Sanhok to be fast and uncontrollable:
The second topic is a bit surprising about the matchmaking system in Sanhok. We wanted Sanhok to be a chaotic, different experience. For that reason, we won’t have matchmaking by rank when you play Sanhok. Although the stats will be recorded, playing on the Sanhok map will not affect your MMR.
This is the decision that PUBG Corp. released after months of testing the Sanhok map on the test server. This can also be heavily influenced by trends taking place on the official server. Maybe PUBG Corp. Will change the idea in the future, but for now Sanhok and any 4×4 maps don’t match the match based on MMR.
PUBG currently ranks matchmaking by MMR (skill) for Miramar and Erangel maps. Looks like PUBG Corp. There is no intention to change matchmaking in the normal game search system, as Sanhok will be assigned a separate “Mini Royale” group when the map is released.
PUBG gamers seem to accept that Sanhok does not rank matches according to MMR. The gameplay in PUBG is still unique, no matter how skilled each person is, everyone has the ability to win.
