After a period of decline and no direction for future plans, OpTic Gaming’s CSGO roster has decided to disband and go their separate ways. This information was announced by the players on their personal Twitter accounts.

When Immortals Gaming Club acquired Infinite Esports in June of this year, it meant that the OpTic Gaming organization had to change direction.

OpTic’s LCS team changes its name to Immortals in 2020. The Houston Outlaws operate independently from another Overwatch team, LA Valiant. And the OpTic logo in Call of Duty remains the same as a Los Angeles franchise.

That is, only CSGO OpTic remained, at that time co-owned by the company that holds the MIBR team and brand. Immortals announced at the time of enrollment that they would be disbanding the CSGO OpTic team, and since then the organization has been looking for a new home for this roster.

But OpTic’s CSGO members couldn’t stand it anymore. Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke announced on Twitter that the roster has disbanded and the players are looking for new opportunities on their own.

“We decided to disband the OpTic lineup because there is no future at OpTic,” wrote k0nfig. “I am ready to go on my own. I feel this is the best option.”

K0nfig regrets the situation cannot go the other way, and praises Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen and Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen. He said regretfully that there was “no future” with them “because both of their contracts were much longer than mine and OpTic didn’t allow themselves to redeem the contracts themselves.”

Just before k0nfig made the announcement, MSL posted on Twitter that he had volunteered to sit on the bench and was looking forward to leaving OpTic.

K0nfig also mentioned René ‘TeSeS’ Madsen and René ‘cajunb’ Borg when he said OpTic refused to release their contracts. Both players have played under OpTic in recent months, but not on full contracts. TeSeS announced on Twitter that he was also looking for new opportunities, and North announced his possession of a cajunb on October 11.

The day before the disband, October 10, k0nfig on Twitter expressed dismay at the current situation.

“What do you really expect? We haven’t practiced or done anything for days. We are in dire straits all the time… I hope the team can end this contract in the near future because it doesn’t help the team’s performance…”

Now all four members k0nfig, MSL, TeSeS and niko are looking for opportunities in new organizations.
