The EPICENTER Major had an exciting day with the final series of June 24, which took place between Team Liquid and Virtus.pro in the semi-finals of the winner’s bracket.
Before that, both teams performed excellently, helping me to reach the top 6 at the EPICENTER Major. This matchup will decide who makes the top 3. With w33 in the lineup, Liquid looks more stable – especially as Windranger continues to dominate throughout the event. And VP is gradually regaining his form after winning against the first place DPC team, Team Secret.
Game 1 of the series ended in the blink of an eye. Liquid completely outplays VP in every move. It only took 22 minutes for the CIS team to knock GG, when they could no longer see any solutions for a chance to come back even though all the tier 2 turrets were still intact. From a caster’s perspective, it looks like Virtus.pro has been ’tilt’ from a draft mistake – but the boys still have one more chance. Everything in game two is very different and VP is in control right from the start of the match. But Liquid refused to give up and still fought hard. Unfortunately, their efforts still did not stop VP equalizing the series.

The final game of the series was completely dominated by Liquid – it took them just twenty minutes to break through two lanes of barracks and lead by a huge margin. Not long after, the TI7 champion forced his opponent to type GG.

With this win, Liquid secured a top 3 finish at the EPICENTER Major, while VP was relegated to the losing bracket. Virtus.pro still gives itself a chance from the knockout series to keep hopes of reaching the final.
EPICENTER is back today with 2 names that will be eliminated, besides we know one more team that made it to the top 3 in the tournament.
