MIBR announced they have signed Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles from Luminosity.

The 23-year-old player joins MIBR to replace João “felps”Vasconcellos, and he has now bootcamped with his new team in Frankfurt in preparation for the ESL One Cologne event.

The announcement comes after the MIBR’s inconsistent results. The team could not compete for championship titles this year, despite having returned to an all-Brazilian squad.

After a promising journey at the IEM Katowice Major when reaching the semi-finals, MIBR still struggled with form, stopping in the semi-finals of the WESG World Finals, losing all five matches at BLAST Pro Series São Paulo and leaving the group stage at StarSeries i-League Season 7.

3rd place at BLAST Pro Series Miami and top 4 at IEM Sydney shows that the team is in the process of recovering. But then, the Brazilian boys were eliminated from the ECS Season 7 Finals after only 2 games and failed to make it past the group stage in the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals.

At Montpellier, Marcelo “coldzera” David admitted that some players had difficulty understanding how to play, and criticized felps for always putting the team in difficult situations by constantly dying early.

LUCAS1 was part of the Immortals squad that reached the finals of the PGL Major Krakow. He has long been on the watchlist of captain Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. In early 2017, he was on the list of names to replace Lincoln “fnx” Lau before the team signed with felps.

With this move, LUCAS1 will separate twin brother Henrique “HEN1” Teles for the first time since they started playing professionally, that is, almost a decade ago, since 1.6.

LUCAS1 will be on loan to MIBR until the end of the StarLadder Major. That means he will be attending four events with the team: ESL One Cologne, BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles, IEM Chicago and the Major.

With these changes, the lineup of MIBR is as follows:

Brazil Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo
Brazil Marcelo “coldzera” David
Brazil Fernando “fer” Alvarenga
Brazil Epitacio “TACO” de Melo
Brazil Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles

Brazil Wilton “zews” Prado (coach)

Brazil Joao “felps” Vasconcellos (substitute)
