Dota 2: What are the strongest late game items patch 7.27d

Dota 2: Đâu là các item cuối game mạnh nhất patch 7.27d

In the previous post, we mentioned that the Mid game has an important influence on the Dota 2 game, so many people do not have enough experience in the Late game stage. The carries are still going to farm after having 6 items, while the supports are hungry to get any new items. However, that is only part of the problem. Today, we’re going to look at late game item choices and discuss when you should take them from the perspective of a core carry player.

skadi lg - EmergenceingameEYE OF SKADI IS VERY STRONG NOW

EOS is probably one of the strongest items in patch 7.27d right now. Skadi’s main strength lies in its diversity and there are very few situations where this item doesn’t contribute anything. It gives us quite a bit of stats, a little damage, and the ability to deal with moving objects and the ability to reduce the enemy’s healing significantly.

The article feels that the reduced healing effect is the main reason to build this item late game. While the other aspects of Eye of Skadi are great, they aren’t too special either. Given that the current meta has quite a few heroes that are useful thanks to their healing abilities, EOS is a worthy pick.

abyssal blade lg - Emergenceingame ABYSSAL BLADE – sheepstick lg - Emergenceingame SCYTHE OF VYSE – bloodthorn lg - Emergenceingame BLOODTHORN

A long time ago (since dotA 1), Abyssal Blade and Scythe of Vyse have always been difficult items to choose for cores in the late game. They are both hard disables and Abyssal even penetrates spell immunity. And with the recent positive changes to Abyssal, I feel that Scythe of Vyse shouldn’t be on heroes like Ursa. Mobility and additional defense stats make this item superior in all core melee.

However, with ranged heroes, Scythe of Vyse is still more terrible. Often gamers focus too much on damage and forget about support. Take for example Templar Assassin, Desolator is the main damage item the hero needs for the mid game. But in the late game, “Hex stick” is the item that contributes the most impact in a combat phase. The amount of armor reduction at the end of the game is really not as strong as in the mid game, but an item that can control the enemy immediately is the factor for TA to remain scary when the game lasts.

Bloodthorn is probably the weakest item on this list. It’s effective when you upgrade from Orchid in the late game, but its effectiveness depends a lot on whether the opponent has BKB or not. In addition, we have to take into account other items like Manta Style, Lotus Orb, Eul’s and a few other neutral items that also have dispel, so getting the most out of Bloodthorn can be quite difficult. With smart play and patience, it can still be effective, but this isn’t an item you’d think you’d need it for in the late game.

monkey king bar lg - Emergenceingame MONKEY KING BAR VS greater crit lg - Emergenceingame DAEDALUS

Monkey King Bar has lost the ability to True Strike completely, but it is still a very strong item against heroes with Evasion ability. It is also a strong item in the current meta when the popular heroes of this meta all have good armor, agility cores like Terroblade for example. So it’s very valuable to have more magic damage from MKB for willpower cores.

For that reason, the article feels that Daedalus is also underrated, at least in the current patch. In terms of bonus damage, this item is second to none (except for Divine Rapier, of course), but when calculating the damage reduction from armor, the damage Deadalus can do isn’t great. Daedalus is currently only worth increasing against cores with low armor or when the team already has a lot of armor reduction effects. In other situations, MKB is completely advantageous.

satanic lg - Emergenceingame SATANIC VS heart lg - Emergenceingame HEART OF TARRASQUE

We have two options to increase survivability but only one item is worth it. We don’t need to argue about the use of Satanic: status resistance, lifesteal and bonus stats are fine. The above factors make this item almost mandatory in the late game and can be acquired earlier when encountering long lockdown skills (like Doom’s ultimate) as well as large burst damage.

Meanwhile, Heart of Tarrasque is hard to find the right hero to promote in the current meta. It is not a good item to rush to first, as this item does nothing but live a bit longer in combat. Your opponent will most likely ignore you, because you just spent 5.4k gold on an item that does not pose a threat. This is also not a good item to get after Satanic: if you need to live longer, the Eye of Skadi is a better choice. Basically, Heart of Tarrasque is not a good item. Maybe it will be used in certain games, but generally not much.

WHEN UP nullifier lg - Emergenceingame NULLIFIER

This item is only for certain situations. It doesn’t allow opponents to escape with the Force Staff and Glimmer Cape, but that’s not convincing enough to buy it when you’re just using it to counter a support’s save. However, if you encounter strong buffs or nasty spells that can be dispel, this is definitely a good reason to go to Nullifier.

If you see heroes like Pugna, Omniknight, Necrophos, even Sven on the opposing team – consider buying Nullifier. Continuous dispel beneficial effects will be very good in all teamfights. It is also an effective item against Oracle: this hero cannot heal allies under the effect of False Promise. The enemy Oracle continues to cast Purifying Flame on an ally, then dispels it again and again, and as a result, the Oracle deals additional damage to the ally

assault lg - Emergenceingame ASSAULT CUIRASS VS butterfly lg - Emergenceingame BUTTERFLY

It’s a bit strange to compare these two items, but they all have one thing in common: these two items add armor and increase DPS equal to bonus Attack Speed.

Butterfly is of course a better choice for Agility carry. There is no better item in the game to increase DPS, while adding quite a bit of appropriate stats.

AC is clearly better in terms of teamfight: the amount of armor given to supports is never bad, especially when you have to deal with high physical damage cores (Magnus, PA or Terrorblade). It’s also better in terms of turret damage and combines well with other armor-reducing effects, increasing the team’s total DPS.

The article advises players to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each item, as well as consider opposing opponents. MKB is very strong right now, so there’s a high chance that evasive builds won’t be as effective as usual. Heroes like Underlord are also quite popular, so the physical DPS is gradually being limited. Butterfly is great, but it is often countered by many heroes, so it’s not very good.

EPILOGUE

Making the right item decision is one of the important skills in Dota. No matter how good a gamer is in the gameplay, if the way to build the item does not threaten the opponent nor affect the game, then winning the game is extremely difficult. To put it bluntly, it is “groin shape” and “concentrated” to wait for teammates to carry.

Hope this short article is useful to new and intermediate players who are still having trouble making the right decisions about the later stages of the game. While most heroes have a default inter-item orientation for the first 25 minutes, everything you buy after the mid game will determine the moment you win and lose.
