Announced on the blog on February 25, Dota 2 organizers shared that the league system offers “a more consistent and more consistent Dota schedule throughout the year, including a better structure for developing Tier 2 and Tier 2 teams and teams.” Tier 3.”
The Dota Pro Circuit system will have 6 regions around the world: Europe, North America, China, South America, Southeast Asia and CIS (Russia and Eastern Europe).
Each region will have its own league, with Upper (Tier 1) and Lower (Tier 2) divisions. Teams qualify for the system through the Open Qualifier (Tier 3). With the first season, Valve will automatically divide the teams for each rank.
After each season, there will be promotion and relegation with the two Upper teams being replaced by two Lower teams.
The top two teams in the Upper Division, whatever the region, will qualify for the next major while the spots are awarded to other high-ranking teams in Europe, China, North America and Europe. Southeast Asia.
Each season’s regional league will have a total prize pool of $280,000 USD while the Majors have a prize pool of $500,000 USD.
League will also award DPC (Dota Pro Circuit) points, which will be used to qualify for The International. However, to encourage teams to stick around throughout the year, the roster will be locked mid-season, while any changes after each season will result in a 15% penalty point.
That year’s top 12 teams from regional leagues and the Major will qualify for The International, with the open qualifiers removed for the big event. Closed qualifiers with the remaining 8 best teams from each region will take place.
The first Dota 2 Fall League will kick off October 5 after The International 10. TI 10 will take place in Stockholm, Sweden in August.
