Syed “SumaiL” Hassan is currently without a team when he leaves Evil Geniuses following the post-TI9 transfer window, and it looks like he will be there for a while longer.

At the beginning of the 2019-2020 DPC season, SumaiL and his brother won the right to attend the DOTA Summit Season 11 Minor under Quincy Crew. However, circumstances became complicated, possibly due to the terms of his contract with EG, forcing SumaiL to leave the team. With most of the tier 1 teams already announcing their lineups for the second Major and Minor, scheduled to retire from December 1st, he was not included in any announcements.

During a stream over the weekend, SumaiL shared on Twitch chat that he will “just relax until next year.”

If understood correctly, “just relax until next year” means that SumaiL will not be playing for any team at the beginning of December of the DreamLeague Leipzig Major nor at the WePlay! Bukovel Minor. The regional qualifiers for these two DPC tournaments will take place from December 1 to 6, with LAN scheduled for January 9-12 for the Minor, and January 18-26 for the Major. Qualifying for the third Minor/Major will begin on February 9, 2020.

SumaiL, dubbed “The King” is one of the standout mid players. Just a few months after joining Evil Geniuses in 2015, he became the youngest player to win Valve’s tournament, the Dota 2 Asia Championship. In the same year, SumaiL became the youngest player to win The International. SumaiL raised his Aegis of Champions shield when he was only 16 years old at the time and became one of the most formidable mid laners in the world.
