World of Warships Legends welcomes October update

The update also comes with a bunch of changes, including a new way to coordinate with teammates and improvements to the Russian line of frigates and Italian cruisers. However, all of this is just a prelude to the main event of the update: Rust ‘n’ Rumble, a special Halloween event that begins October 19.

What’s in the October World of Warships: Legends update?

In the last update, nimble Italian cruisers joined the World of Warships: Legends fleet and now they’re out of Early Access with a notable addition. Prior to this, Italian cruisers on Tier III were equipped with the standard Smoke Generator, which helped them conceal themselves in the heat of battle in a similar way to most destroyers in the game.

In this update, the standard smoke generator will be replaced with a unique version called Exhaust Smoke Generator. Unlike the regular Smoke Generator version, the Exhaust Smoke Generator can make Italian cruisers “fume” even at full speed. You can also start researching the Amalfi Tier VII – the typical Italian cruiser known for its characteristic top speed, powerful 203mm cannon and long-range torpedoes – albeit slow. Overall, the Amalfi and the Italian cruiser are great additions to your fleet.

The Steel Redeemer campaign will give players the ultimate reward for completing the quest for the high-end Benham destroyer Tier VI. Destroyer Benham loaded with torpedoes. She is known for serving in the Battle of Midway, where she rescued hundreds of sailors from the sinking USS Yorktown and USS Hammann. To unlock this ship, you will have to complete 80 milestones in the Steel Redeemer campaign over the next 5 weeks with the Admiralty Backing feature.

Since their introduction, the Russian line of destroyers requires players to have precision in order to reach their full potential. The developer has equipped them with larger heavy cannons, improved maneuverability and faster torpedoes. You will be able to do more damage with Russian destroyers and stay in the fight longer.

The highlight of the update starts on October 19 – the Halloween Rust ‘n’ Rumble event. Get ready for a team death battle in a post-apocalyptic world. As usual, have fun. In Rust ‘n’ Rumble battles, there is no hiding element. You will have to make the most of the power of the chosen destroyer in a war engulfed in torpedoes and shells. Through each battle, you will receive Tabz, a special currency that helps you upgrade the ships in the event and unlock Commander Rust ‘n’ Rumble. If you accumulate enough Tabz, you can even add the high-class Russian Tier VI destroyer called Ognevoi to your warship collection.

There are also some other small improvements. Most notably is the Sector Alert function, which helps you mark an area on the map for your teammates. This will help you communicate more clearly and attract attention when changing tactical situations in battle.
