What better way to start 2018 than by taking a look at the games coming to our PCs and consoles over the next 12 months. We’ve put together a list of games to look forward to in 2018 in each game genre. The first genre is First Person Shooter.

Far Cry 5

Broadcast stations, a dangerous wild world, and terrifying villains are all trademarks of the Far Cry series. Far Cry 5 is a game that received a lot of expectations. The Far Cry game series seems to have slowed down a bit in the last two parts, so this next part will take on the heavy responsibility of winning back the player’s love.

Fortunately, things seem to be going in a good direction with a suitable setting and richer gameplay. In addition, Ubisoft also tends to refresh game series every time that series starts to cool down (2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins is a prime example), so everything still seems quite optimistic for the game. Ubisoft’s new shooter.

My trial at PAX made me even more excited about Far Cry 5 with its extremely interesting combat situations. Let’s hope that Ubisoft does not disappoint players when the game officially launches on March 27.

Metro Exodus

Honestly, in the years Rockstar didn’t release new games, Metro was my personal favorite game of that year. Both previous Metro titles are adventures with a heavy, gloomy and barbaric atmosphere but extremely enchanting in a post-apocalyptic world in Russia. I hope Metro Exodus will maintain that style.

For the first time in the history of the Metro series, the game allows the player to see the unpolluted world above ground, bringing a sense of relief to the player when they are temporarily out of the cramped tunnels of the Metro. I’m ready to go on adventures with Artyom when Metro Exodus launches in late 2018.

Metroid Prime 4

Not much is known about this return of Samus, but if this isn’t the most awaited Nintendo Switch game, I’d be very surprised. One of the most confusing things Nintendo did during the Wii U era was not taking advantage of the excellent Prime games that came out before it. Luckily, this time they didn’t make the same mistake.

There is no official release date yet but I think that given Nintendo’s excellent 2017 product launch strategy, this game will almost certainly be released between September and October.

System Shock

In the category of creepy FPS games, the System Shock games are quite “bloody” titles, but the undeniable truth is that they are all old and outdated. But that’s okay, we’re about to welcome an epic remake in 2018.

I’m looking forward to experiencing Bioshock’s predecessor game with dramatic, scary episodes combined with modern graphics and improved gameplay. I’m also happy that later generations who weren’t able to play this game when it first came out can now experience it. This game project has been started and there may be a delay in the launch but I think we will get to play it in the second half of 2018.

Deep Rock Galactic

This is a game that looks strange, but is surprisingly attractive. Imagine Red Faction combined with Dwarfs and 4-player co-op and boom! – we have Deep Rock Galactic. I really like the idea of a Left 4 Dead style with a 100% destructible environment, so I really hope Deep Rock Galactic lives up to my expectations. The game will be released in early access on PC in the near future. The console version of the game will be released later this year.
