TI9: Summarizing the 3rd day of competition, Chaos is officially eliminated

Ngày 3 TI9
Day 3 TI9

Day two of the TI9 group stage continued to deliver some of the most exciting matches in The International’s history, as well as saying goodbye to the first team.

Looks like this TI9 group stage offers some of the most exciting performances of the year, when last year’s games were usually nothing special.

After two days of competition, the teams and players continued to surprise fans.

What is this year’s theme? Mega Creep, comeback, and unexpected heroes appear. At current progress, Mega Creep will be buffed in the next patch and pub games will be filled with Earthshaker mids, Invoker support and IO cores.

Regrettably, Chaos was the first team to end their TI9 dream. Unable to win a single game in the final series, the fate of Team Matumbaman was at stake, becoming the first team to be eliminated from TI9.

Only one more day left for us to determine the seed of the teams. Currently, last year’s champions OG, Team Secret and PSG.LGD have all claimed the winning bracket.

Today, one more team will say goodbye to the TI9 dream, while the rest of the teams prepare to enter the main event, determining who will enter the winners and losers.

Table A

Team Secret lost some heat on the third day. TNC Predator was the first team to make Secret receive the first loss of the tournament. Although it took 52 minutes, the Philippine boys also won 1 game in the series before Secret.

TNC then had to fight Chaos in two long games. The first game lasted nearly an hour, with Chaos doing his best to keep TI9 hopes up – unfortunately to no avail. But game 2 will probably make fans discuss a lot. Lasting over 86 minutes – the longest currently in TI9, Chaos fends off TNC’s Mega Creep. Detained, TNC was unable to end the game and let Chaos claim the Mega Creep. Now it’s Mega vs. Mega, with Chaos trying to come up against the tide, trying his best not to get knocked out.

Meanwhile, Alliance fought off game 2 against Newbee with Michael “miCKe” Vu having the highest average kills at TI9, using his signature Morphling hero.

Newbee continued to be the king of the comeback from Megacreep, as they avoided defeat to Keen Gaming in the first series, pushing the game to 70 minutes. Newbee fought hard in those games to try and compete for a winning draw. .

Table of Omissions

Anathan “ana” Pham is now confirmed to play Dota 2 one notch above the rest of the TI9 players. Thanks to him and his incredible drafting ability, OG dominated the group. In the first game before Virtus.pro, core IO did 17.6k damage, an unbelievable number.

Talking about Virtus.pro, the CIS boss lost 0:4 the day before, but then recovered a few matches. Team Russia is currently ranked 8th in the group and needs to secure a few wins to avoid becoming the ‘bomb of the year’ (along with Liquid, which is currently ranked similarly in Group A).

Infamous fell from the winner’s bracket to the loser’s bracket, but the team looked like it had a good chance of progressing and will have plenty of games on the final day of the group stage.

NiP needs to prepare mentally before Infamous if they don’t want to be bottom of the table. Also, PPD’s team needs to fight Evil Geniuses if they want to survive at TI9.
