Patch 7.07 is updated with some interesting new items. While their power is being widely discussed by the community, one extremely op item that has received little attention is none other than Spirit Vessel.
Spirit Vessel(SV), an upgraded version of Urn. Considering Urn’s popularity in the game, it’s really a perfect item for supports from mid to late game given the amount of health and movement speed it provides.
While most players only see Spirit Vesel as an upgraded version of Urn, its performance is actually very underrated. Let’s take a closer look:
first. When cast on an enemy, it reduces current health by 3.0% every second (8 seconds)
Thus, the total health loss of the enemy will be 24% (8×3) every time you use it, especially since it directly subtracts hp and ignores everything except False Promise, Borrowed Time, Ghostship, Shield Crash and Gravekeeper’s Cloak, so Spirit Vessel is a very strong item when facing tankers.
2. Reduces HP regeneration by 70% and heals by 70%.

- SV’s healing and debuffs don’t stack with Urn
- Heal and debuff of SV and Urn when used together, Urn will be removed + lose charge and cooldown
- SV’s HP Removal ignores Templar Assassin’s Refraction
In all previous patches, Ancient Apparition has always been a very strong counter hero in the lineup with strong healing abilities. However, heroes like Alchemist, Huskar and Necrophos are still viable options if teams know how to draft or simply ban Ancient Apparition, and then there’s almost nothing to stand against these heroes – All of them We all know how wasteful the Alchemist is without the ability to regen from the ulti. Furthermore, Spirit Vessel is a strong counter item against strong carries like Dragon Knight and Bristleback, as they are tanky in nature and rely on their powerful regen and HP. Also Underlord and Tidehunter are also affected by Spirit Vessel but most of the time they can debuff with Guardian Greaves.
At present Alchemist, Nercophos and Huskar are rarely used both in pubs and competitive. Morphling and Faceless Void also gradually disappeared. When so many heroes are outmetached just by the appearance of an item, it can simply be said that the item is really OP.
In my opinion the Spirit vessel needs to be nerfed in the upcoming patch, maybe reducing the number from 70% to 40-50% is a pretty reasonable nerf.
