This free Serious Sam is part of GOG’s Harvest Sale that runs until August 31. During that time, GOG has discounted over 1,500 titles including My Friend Pedro, RPG blockbusters like The Witcher 3: Wildhunt, and more.
Serious Sam 4 was introduced by publisher Devolver Digital in July with games like Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, Shadow Warrior 3 and Carrion. The latest installment in this classic series is in a timeline that precedes Serious Sam 3: BFE (2011). Serious Sam 3 itself is also happening before Serious Sam: The First Encounter. It’s hard to know what the ‘first part’ is in the game’s plot chronology, but playing Serious Sam: The First Encounter can give a new look at the game 20 years on.

GOG isn’t the only place where players can play previous titles in the Serious Sam series. Last March, Serious Sam Collection was also available on Google Stadia, including HD versions of the first three seasons.
