After nearly a decade since its launch, Guild Wars 2 is finally on Steam. The veteran MMORPG has been primarily played with its own launcher since 2012, but is finally coming to Valve in November. Developer ArenaNet also announced Guild Wars 2’s third major expansion, slated for release in 2021 with the introduction trailer.
The Steam version of Guild Wars 2 will be available in November, but ArenaNet did not specify when. Two major expansions, Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, will also be available on Steam, as will Living World content, up to The Icebrood Sage – none of which isn’t available on Steam. This patch appears to be for new player gear, as the store page states that “Currently Guild Wars 2 accounts are not accessible via Steam.”
The third expansion, End of Dragon, is slated for release in 2021 and will “take players on a journey to Cantha, a mysterious southern island unknown for over 200 years,” ArenaNet explains. in the press conference.
