Respawn Announces Apex Legends: Hit Reg Update Plan, Fixing Caustic and Gibraltar

The developer of the popular Apex Legends game, Resawpn Entertainment has updated the status of its game and what we can expect in the next patch.

The article, published on May 10, states that Respawn is “currently working on the next patch and it will improve the following issues.” The article then lists issues related to hit registration and character model.

Hit reg and Fortified will be adjusted

The next update will fix issues related to hit registration, which mainly come from inconsistent information between the game’s client and the characters in motion. However, Respawn says there may be other bugs that cause hit registration to be incorrect, and they don’t have a fix for all problems yet.

Respawn also mentions the “fortified” of Gibraltar and Caustic, the game’s two big characters. This is a perk that gives these two characters a 10% reduction in damage, but it inadvertently causes unexpected difficulties, for example, the player will lose health even though he still has armor.

The good news for Apex gamers is that “it will be fixed soon” in the next patch.

‘Slow-motion’ at the beginning of the game

Another update will fix the ‘slow-motion’ bug, specifically in the early stages of matches. Respawn says it added tweaks to reduce the probability of this happening, but it doesn’t address everything.

Finally, Respawn will test the sound in Apex Legends. The team will improve the sound of footsteps, making it easier for players to track the enemy’s movements. In addition, the game will also improve the overall sound, reducing jerky as well as sound damage.

This update also fixes ‘piggy-backing’ (going into the game and sucking experience from teammates but doesn’t contribute anything) and PS4 crashes after update 1.08. We still don’t know exactly when the next patch will be released, as well as the next season of the game, but the Respawn team said they will notify players before the update.
