Dauntless, a free monster hunting game like Monster Hunter, is coming soon

Dauntless, the Monster Hunter-like free-to-play action RPG from Phoenix Lab, has an official release date. The game was scheduled to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in April 2019, but will now officially launch – along with the PC version on the Epic Games Store – on May 21.

At the same time, Season 5 Hunt Pass called Hidden Blades also appeared in the game. Like Fortnite’s Battle Pass, Dauntless’s Hunt Pass gives players the opportunity to unlock special skins and other rewards. With this season pass, Shattered Isles will be remade for the Moon Blossom Festival and bring in ninja-themed skins.

In addition to the new Hunt Pass, next week’s Dauntless will improve on all of the features and gameplay that Phoenix Labs included in the game’s recent open beta. Among them is the Mastery system, which the developer says “provides a new way for Slayers to hone their skills, gain experience, unlock achievements, and receive new rewards.” The game’s campaign was also “massively reworked.”

Finally, next week Dauntless players will be able to choose for themselves the new Arcslayer Pack. This bundle has a robot armor set, in-game money and many items for you to use to hunt. With launch time approaching, Phoenix Labs will be dropping Ramsguard packs in open beta – this is your last chance to get them.

Dauntless will also be available on Switch and mobile devices, but a release date has yet to be announced.
