Overwatch 2 introduces New York, Rome maps and new hero designs

We will probably have to wait a little longer to experience Overwatch 2 in the game, but that does not mean that information about the game is completely secret. At BlizzCon 2021, Blizzard introduced two new maps and hero designs in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 was unexpectedly absent from the opening ceremony, but the community was also able to admire it later. The next part will have many new maps, but two of the maps that fans saw recently at BlizzCon 2021 are Rome and New York. Blizzard’s version of Rome offers a modern, modern fusion architecture in Overwatch 2.

The new New york map has a similar design philosophy. Blizzard blends the city’s classic architecture with the futuristic tech of Overwatch 2. Blizzard says they’ll have variable weather in each map. For example, in Anubis, your view may be blocked by a sandstorm.

In addition, we also see the hero team in a new look, this time McCree, Pharah, Reaper and Windowmaker. You can see pictures of the heroes below:

Blizzard also revealed in-game missions, new enemies, including a robot that can crawl to you once it’s shot down. Overwatch 2 release date is unlikely this year, but let’s hope 2022 will be the official date. Activision Blizzard explained during its last financial meeting that the game won’t be available in 2021 but that 2022 will be their “big year”.
