PUBG will have team deathmatch mode with update 6.2. This mode is part of a new Arcade section for developers to focus on new ways to play the game. Unlike the previous test mode in 2018, this 8v8 will take place in 7 available mini maps of PUBG.

This mode only has a first-person perspective, allowing respawns and not killing teammates. There are 8 Spawn Kits (weapons and equipment) to choose from, and the healing will depend on your Boost Gauge: kill and assist will restore this bar and it slowly heals you after not losing health for 5 second. Matches last 10 minutes, with the first team to reach 50 kills winning. Players will receive BP for joining, but there will be no Survivor Pass XP rewards.

This does not mean that PUBG will change direction to the Call of Duty segment. “For those who love Battle Royale, don’t worry too much. Our focus has always been to deliver the most realistic and intense Battle Royale experience to you.” Blog update recorded.

The new Arcade branch will continue to grow: TDM mode will feature more maps and tweaks, intended to bring “new and familiar game modes” in the future.
