French CSGO player Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt has announced his official move to Valorant, Riot Games’ tactical shooter.

NBK finally decided an important move after nearly three months of playing for DBL Poney. In this surprise announcement video, the pro player confirms his CSGO timing is over.

“I have lived through the most disappointing moments as well as the most prestigious championships. Counter-Strike gave me everything and I lived the game to the fullest. But the memory must stay in the past. Now is the time for change and I will rule,” NBK said in its video.

Confirmation to NBK’s Valorant is confirmed by former team OG. The organization recognizes NBK’s achievements in his Counter-Strike career and thanks him for his contributions to esports.

“He has nothing left to prove in the server, NBK stands out for his professionalism and rare working style, well-deserved for his achievements. The new challenge at VALORANT will mark the beginning of a new chapter in his career, but also show Riot Games’ important growth in esports,” the OG blog wrote.

NBK leaves Counter-Strike

Many professional CSGO players have switched to Valorant since the game’s launch in 2020, but very few European stars have completely switched to the game. Olog “olofmeister” Kajbjer, Kenny “kennyS” Schrub hinted at Valorant’s future but didn’t really jump on it.

NBK has a pretty long CSGO career. He is a prominent name in the French CSGO scene, playing for all major organizations over the past 10 years. His contribution to French esports is immense with many resounding achievements.

NBK got its first major title in 2014 while playing for LDLC. He then joined Team EnVyUs, won another Major at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca 2015, eventually becoming one of the best players in the world. His final years in CSGO weren’t very prominent when he joined OG, but he still left many fond memories with Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and the other members of this superstar lineup.

The 27-year-old was benched in February, forcing him to find another team on his CSGO journey. Many predicted NBK would create a new France squad, but it seems he has other plans of his own.

NBK has yet to announce which Valorant team he will join, but given his talent, he should have no trouble finding a new home.
