We cannot define different DWS files for different elements, for example, we cannot define one DWS file for dimension type and one file for Linetype.

Each setting from each DWS file will be processed. If there are conflicting information in different DWS files, the first file information in the list will be used. If necessary, you can change the order of the DWS files to change the priority.

When setting Autocad standards, a CHX checker batch file with the same name as the project file will be created in the project directory. The CHX file contains all project drawings as drawings to be checked and all DWS files specified as drawings for inspection. You can run this batch file to check the entire project or check each project manually.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click on the icon =>Open =>Project.

Step 2: Select the project where you want to set the standard Autocad settings, right click on it and select Project Properties.

Step 3: Expand item Advancedthen click Project Standards .

Step 4: Click select AutoCAD Standards tab.

Step 5: To add a new DWS file, click the icon .

By default the new DWS file will be added to the end of the list. This means that the file will be processed last and the DWS file settings at the top will take precedence.

Step 6: To change the order of DWS files in the list, simply use the up and down buttons.

Step 7: To remove a DWS file from the list, click on the file name and then click the icon .

Deleting DWS files will only remove the file’s reference from the project. Files are not deleted from the file system.

Step 8: If you have set up DWS files as AEC drawings in Styles settings and Display settings, you can reuse these settings in Autocad standard settings by clicking Add.dws files in the Standard Styles section.

This will copy the standard AEC files to the AutoCAD Standards tab, and you can use the standard Autocad files in the project.
