1. Rules to be able to defeat Boss Ghoul in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

To defeat the Ghoul, you’ll need to balance physical and magical attacks, combined with good defense. This is because the Ghoul will from time to time become immune to either of these powers, forcing you to switch playstyles constantly. Accordingly, temporarily, when in white “physical” form, use physical damage to attack. Meanwhile, if in red “ghost” form, you should attack it with magic damage. When in Incorporeality form (which can be understood as neutral form), you should defend well and attack with more magic damage.

2. How to Defeat Boss Ghoul in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

2.1. State 1

When the battle begins, the Ghoul will be drained by physical attacks so rush at him with Cloud and Tifa. At this point, the Ghoul has two close range attacks: slashing down and igniting fire in a straight line. All are done continuously by the Ghoul by raising his arms in the air, so you need to run to the side to avoid these dangers as much as possible.

Next, you also need to avoid the Piercing Scream attack because it will stun anyone who gets stuck on it. Accordingly, when the word “Piercing Scream” appears on the Ghoul’s body, all you need to do is quickly run away and stand behind your melee fighters. After that, the Ghoul will begin to transform between Incorporeality, form, and physical form. When it becomes more transparent and starts to glow red, you can now only damage the Ghoul with magic attacks. This monster’s weakness is fire, so use Cloud or Tifa to support Fira and control Aerith to attack the Ghoul with magic damage.

If you deal enough damage the Ghoul will knock it back to its physical form (white) and you can use Cloud and Tifa to block it with attacks or use Aerith to prevent it from turning into Incorporeality. After hitting 50% health, the Ghoul will gain a few new attacks and most notably Telekinesis, which allows it to move objects in its surroundings. Although these attacks don’t deal too much damage, they make you run through a maze before you can reach the Ghoul.

The Ghoul will attempt to grab a fighter on your team while in Incorporeality, removing them from the fight until the Ghoul is stunned. Because of this, you need to stay away from the Ghoul when it’s in its Incorporeality form so you don’t get caught. Continue doing this until the Ghoul is stunned so Cloud and Tifa can attack the spirit. Additionally, the Ghoul will sweep at the player while in Incorporeality, dealing around 200 damage and initiating Silence. This move is very dangerous for Aerith, so if the Ghoul attacks you just run away so you don’t get magic locked!

In general, if you regularly switch to using magic when the Ghoul is in Incorporality then you will win. Furthermore, you also need to make sure to play defensively while the Ghoul is in this form so you don’t get removed from battle or silenced.
