Zoo Warlock is also a “traditional” deck of Hearthstone, and this deck is rarely absent from the meta for too long. In the previous expansion, the Galakrond version was quite popular, but now the deck has a new path thanks to the two cards in Ashes of Outland.
First and foremost is Imprisoned Scrap Imp. This card is very powerful, it can be seen as Glowstone Technician with only 2 mana, although it is slower when not generating tempo directly on the table while playing. However, this is offset by the fact that you have more time to accumulate a few more minions on your hand. 2 turns after it is played, the minions in hand become significantly stronger. Eg Stonetusk Boar is a 1 mana 3/3 Charge (almost 4 mana Kor’kron Elite), Argent Squire become Silvermoon Guardian, Voidwalker become Sen’jin Shieldmasta. The +2/+2 stat essentially turns 1-mana minions into 3-4 mana, however they still only cost 1 mana to play, and so Zoolock can have really explosive turns in the middle of the game.
The second most important card in this deck is Hand of Gul’dan. It’s almost like drawing 3 cards for free thanks to .’s “selective discard” ability Expired Merchant and Nightshade Matron, and Hand of Gul’dan is the most expensive card in the deck. If it is discarded by the Expired Merchant, you have 2 more copies to your hand when the minion dies, and you can continue discarding them to continue drawing. This deck draws cards very quickly and as mentioned, 2 Scrap Imps can carry many battles. Although not the strongest deck in the meta, its current position in tier 2 is quite solid.
