Hearthstone’s new expansion, Rise of Shadows, will be available on April 9. The expansion will bring in many new terms:

Twinspell

TheForestsAid enUS2 - Emergenceingame

Twinspell is the new keyword. When you cast a spell with Twinspell, it creates a copy of this card in your hand. This new copy spell doesn’t have Twinspell, which means Twinspell can be used up to twice. This mechanism is similar to Echo, but the difference is that Twinspell cards do not need to be cast in the same turn.

Lackey

WitchyLackey enUS1 - Emergenceingame

Lackey is a new form of token. Lackeys are not available in your deck, instead, they are created using other Rise of Shadows cards. Currently, we know 5 Lackeys. Each Lackey appears to be one of five villains appearing in Rise of Shadows’ solo mode. The current Lackeys all cost 1-mana, 1-attack, 1-health, but they are different in Battlecry. Each Lackey has a useful Battlecry that generates large tempo at a low cost.

Scheme

LazulsScheme enUS - Emergenceingame

The Scheme cards are for those who enjoy playing Control decks. The longer you hold it in your hand, the stronger the Scheme cards will be. Each turn, the number on your Scheme card increases. Let’s wait and see how they will shape Control decks as well as the game tempo of Control matches against each other.

Callback Cards

ForbiddenWords enUS1 - Emergenceingame

Callbacks are cards with keywords or mechanics related to an old expansion. Expect to have one Callback card per class. Priest’s callback is Forbidden Words, related to the word “Forbidden” mechanism Whispers of the Old Gods. This card allows the player to use all of their available Mana in exchange for something on the table.
