Get Fallout 76 for free on Steam if you already have the game on Bethesda.net

Fallout 76 is coming to Steam in April, and now Bethesda has confirmed some good news for gamers who already have the game: Anyone who links their Steam and Bethesda accounts before April 12 will get Fallout 76 for free. Free on Steam.

Players who currently download to Steam will not be able to bring in atoms, the game currency, and the atoms earned after switching will only be used on the platform you play on. However, any items purchased inside the in-game store will be available on both Steam and Bethesda.net, and all gameplay will be linked between the two.

Purchase Fallout 76 on Steam from April 14 to April 28, and you’ll get additional copies of the Fallout Classic Collection for free, including Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. Of course, it will also be free for those who activate the free Steam version during the period listed above.

Fallout 76 on Steam will have the same achievements on the console version of the game, but you’ll need to create a new character to receive any achievements related to quests and levels achieved. Steam and Bethesda friends lists are also shared, so players on both platforms can play together. Refunds for existing atom will not be applied if the player changes to Steam, unless you can get a controller refund from Bethesda. And unfortunately, the free Steam version is only available to PC gamers on Bethesda.net
