The second Major of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2018-2019 will take place in Chongqing (Chongqing), China from January 19 to 27. Like the Majors of this season, the tournament will consist of 16 teams with The total prize pool is $1 million and a total score of 15,000 DPC.
Chongqing Major is the first time StarLadder has hosted a Major of the Dota Pro Circuit system. StarLadder previously hosted two Minors last season. With the Chongqing Major, StarLadder said it will hold two DPC Minors before TI9 takes place.

According to a press conference from StarLadder, the regional qualifiers for the Chongqing Major will take place right after the Kuala Lumpur Major ends, from November 25 to 30 taking place in six main regions: North America, South America, Europe, CIS , China and Southeast Asia. However, details of qualifying spots and exact time will be announced at a later time. A total of 15 teams will be decided in the regional qualifiers, with PGL champion Bucharest Minor joining these teams in China.
This year’s season has a total of 5 Majors and 5 Minors. Currently 5 Majors have been announced: the upcoming Kuala Lumpur Major, the DreamLeague Season 11 and the Chongqing Major held in China. With the Minor, DreamLeague Season 10 selected the Tigers as the first Minor Champion. The next Minor will take place at the PGL office from Bucharest, Romania, from January 9 to 13.
