The post-TI9 transfer window is coming to an end and major organizations are starting to announce their changes. After Virtus.pro lost Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov to Natus Vincere earlier this month, this time it was Roman “RAMZES” Kushnarev’s turn to leave the team.

In a rather unexpected move, the young Russian carry will begin the new season with the North American team, Evil Geniuses. Not only did he change the game area, but also the role in the game. Ramzes will start the new season offlane, replacing Gastav “s4” Magnusson.

Ramzes joined Virtus.pro after the post-TI6 transfer period. At that time, he was only 17 years old and was a very popular player. During his three-year career with the bears, Ramzes became one of the best carries in the world, and the best Terror Blade in the pro scene. Since 2014, when he started playing professionally, Ramzes has only played for CIS teams, so switching to Evil Geniuses is really interesting.

While VP lost his star player, so did Evil Geniuses, who will not be playing alongside Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. Similar to Ramzes, Sumail was only 16 years old when he joined EG. A few months later, Sumail became the champion of TI and quickly became the favorite mid player in the world.

In the official statement, EG said on September 16 that while SumaiL is no longer in the official lineup, he is “still under contract and open to offers.”

To replace SumaiL, Evil Geniuses brought in former Fnatic mid laner, Abed “Abed” Azel L. Yusop, who had just left the Southeast Asian team a few weeks earlier.

Evil Geniuses’ new lineup from posts 1 to 5 is as follows:

  • Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
  • Abed “Abed” Azel L. Yusop
  • Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev
  • Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
  • Tal “Fly” Aizik
  • Coach: Sam “BuLba” Sosale

The new Evil Geniuses will begin their competitive journey from October 5, when they attend the qualifiers for the first Major at the 2019-2020 DPC. Both EG and VP announced that they will also participate in the $500,000 ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational in December of this year.
