Beyond the Summit will be the organizer of the first Minor tournament of the 2019-2020 DPC.
DOTA Summit 11 was announced to be the first Minor of the Season, and according to David “LD” Gorman, it is the only DPC tournament to be held in North America in 2019. It will be Beyond the Summit’s first time hosting it. his Summit event present the audience to attend. The new season’s first minor will take place in the studio, with a small audience watching live at Beyond the Summit’s location in California, Los Angeles.
DOTA Summit 11 will take place from November 7 to 10, with 8 teams participating and a total prize money of $300,000. More importantly, the winning team will qualify for the Major. The Major venue has yet to be announced, nor is it known which organization will be the moderator. Regional qualifiers for the DOTA Summit Minor and Major will begin October 5.
Major and Minor Qualifiers:
State 1:
2 x group stage of 5 teams, BO2 competition. The eight teams with the most DPC points will be invited.
2 open qualifiers.
In the event that teams do not have enough DPC points, Valve will decide how to distribute the remaining slots.
Top 2 teams in each group advance to Stage 2
The third-placed teams in each group advance to stage 3. The remaining teams are eliminated and receive 10 DPC points. In the event that the region has 3 Major invites, the two 4th place teams will play a BO3 to decide who enters stage 3.
Phase 2:
4 teams compete in the Double Elimination format.
Top 2-3 will qualify for the Major. The losing team enters Stage 3.
Stage 3:
4 teams compete in the Double Elimination format. Top 1/2 won the right to attend the Minor, the remaining teams won 20 DPC points.
