Allegedly engaged in match-fixing activities and banned from all major Chinese tournaments, Newbee issued a 3-day notice to the China Professional DOTA 2 Association (CDA), asking for evidence of accusations of peddling and made several accusations from his side.

According to Newbee, when being interviewed by CDA, players are intimidated by interviewers, members of CDA. They deliberately forced the players to give false statements.

CDA then officially responded to Newbee’s allegations on Weibo as follows:

CDA phủ nhận cáo buộc bị đe dọa từ Newbee và xác nhận gửi mọi chứng cứ cho Valve - Emergenceingame

“The CDA did a cross-match and on May 15th, we borrowed a Mars Media conference room to ask for the personal details of five players, and let them know in advance that it was based on spirit volunteered and we recorded the whole process. There was no coercion, intimidation, etc during questioning.

The CDA Association submitted every video to Perfect World on May 18 and Valve on May 19.

During the investigation, the CDA Association always hopes that the players can recognize the mistake and correct it themselves. After the investigation, the players and the parties involved decided to collude with each other, and they tried to deny the truth that they said privately during the talk. Therefore, we are very disappointed.

The CDA Association will uphold the announcement made on May 15th. Once again, we emphasize that, based on the environment and ecosystem of Chinese professional DOTA 2 tournaments and zero tolerance practices. unwarranted profit interests such as match-fixing, the CDA Association will not condone such behavior.”
