Pro CSGO player Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz explains why the Krieg meta is wreaking havoc on AWP and how he plays.
SG553, aka Krieg, has been a hot topic in CSGO lately. Many pro players like Richard “shox” Papillon and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo called for nerfing this gun.
On October 24, Astralis star dev1ce shared his thoughts on the matter. He said the rise of Krieg is negatively affecting AWP in general, as well as his own gameplay.
“It was a difficult night for me personally, struggling to use the AWP against Krieg. Not sure if it’s worth buying AWP now,” dev1ce said on Instagram after the win over BIG Clan.
Meanwhile, his teammate Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen agreed, saying on Twitter “the Krieg meta is slowly losing control”. He then created a poll, asking fans which was worse, meta Krieg or AUG.
A large number of players are concerned about the SG553 because it is quite cheap compared to the AK-47. The SG553 is strong in close combat as well as good against AWP at long range thanks to its aiming scope.
With the AUG being nerfed, the CT scope is no longer as powerful as before, falling behind T. Krieg’s Krieg which became popular in early 2019 and has now surpassed the AK-47 to become the most used gun. game.
