Cloud9 finds a new CSGO team, prepares to drop the current lineup

Cloud9 will once again remake its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup. Most likely, the current CSGO roster will be transferred to another organization or completely disbanded.

The organization has just posted a video on YouTube with the content that members of the current Cloud 9 lineup plan to look for another lineup in the future.

“You don’t have to worry too much. Cloud9 will not give up Counter-Strike, they are in the process of restructuring the entire Counter-Strike array. For now, we will continue to represent Cloud9 in the ESL Pro League while Cloud9 searches for a new home for us and completely restructures the Counter-Strike business,” said Cloud9 coach Tiaan “Tc” Coertzen. .

The current squad has been joining Cloud9 since January. They were successful in 2019 under the name ATK, specifically the top 8 ESL Pro League Season 10.

Regrettably, the decision to move to a top esports organization did not improve the team’s capabilities. While the South Africa-US roster did well in ESL Road to Rio and Flashpoint Season 1, they did not reach any finals in a tournament, either international or domestic.

The timing of this decision is rather strange, as the current roster is gearing up for the next major and the boys themselves have maintained a steady performance in the official regional tournaments.

The Cloud9 organization has continuously struggled in CSGO in recent years. Since winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018, they haven’t won a single major and have never finished high at a major.

The Cloud9 roster was constantly changing throughout 2018 and 2019 as they used free agents and played around with Timothy “autimatic” Ta and Will “RUSH” Wierzba. This lasted until the end of 2019, when RUSH changed to Complexity Gaming and the rest of the members transferred to Gen.G.

The ATK roster’s move to Cloud9 has provided the stability the organization has desperately needed over the years, but at the expense of less-than-stellar results. Cloud9’s current form is enough to compete in the North American tournaments, but has yet to win a domestic tournament, and the international situation is still not good.

What happens next for Cloud9 is currently unknown. There aren’t too many teams currently playing without sponsorship in North America or Europe. It is possible that Cloud9 will acquire potential lineups from smaller organizations.
