Apex Legends: Everything you need to know about the Octane speed ghost

Octane was officially introduced in Apex Legends on March 19, with the Wild Frontiers patch.

The update also kicks off Apex Legends Season 1 as well as the game’s first Battle Pass, but some fans aren’t happy with the Battle Pass.

Octane is the 9th Legend to appear in the game and here’s what we know about this new character.

Who is Octane?

For Apex Legends fans who want to find out who Octane is, Respawn Entertainment has shared a biography of the character.

Octavio Silva, nicknamed ‘Octane’, is a “running record holder” who lost his legs in an event. Now, using metal legs, Octane is looking for a new race, a chance to win Kings Canyon and claim the title of Apex Champion.

Octane’s skills

Octane’s skills ensure he survives in combat, using his Passive Ability Swift Mend, which continuously heals the character when undamaged. Octane can trade his health to move 30% faster, continuing to spike enemies in speed.

Octane’s Ultimate Ability allows him to create a Launch Pad that anyone can use. It can be used to move around the map easily or fly to higher terrain, creating an advantage for yourself.

Passive Ability: Swift Mend

When not losing health, Octane heals over time.

Tactical Ability: Stim

Move 30% faster for 8 seconds. Cost 10% health. Immune to slow while active.

Ultimate Ability: Launch Pad

Create a springboard to jump into the air.

Which Apex Legends player is Octane suitable for?

Octane is suitable for those who love action and fast movement. Octane’s Swift Mend helps you heal continuously when not taking damage, allowing players to be more adventurous when approaching combat. You can trade a little health to move faster, to chase opponents, or escape if things don’t go as planned.

Octane’s Launch Pad is a great tool to get around quickly, or into enemy control areas to take them down.

While Apex Legends fans are experimenting with Octane, you’ll be glad to know that this isn’t the only new character that will be coming to the game. According to previously found data miners have pointed to another new Legend named Wattson. However, we currently have no information about this Legend.
