Sony made a decision that made the PS4 community heartbroken, is the end coming?

The PS4 era is coming to an end.

According to information published by Eurogamer magazine, Sony has confirmed that it will close the PlayStation 4 community feature in April. This is a move that shows the intention to close the era of the old system to pave the way for PS5.

Earlier in September 2015, Sony launched the community feature for PS4. With this function, players can create communities based on shared interests, such as the same game, genre or simply chatting for fun. The activities of the communities are quite vibrant, from newsletters, discussions around hot topics, sharing screenshots, showing off achievements or finding friends to play with.

As expected, the PS4 community feature will stop working after Sony releases a new update for this system. However, users can still stay connected and use messaging features on PS4 or the PlayStation app.

It is known that PlayStation 4 was first released in November 2013 in North America. By February 2014, the original Jet Black color version was launched in its home country of Japan. Since then, this system has created many memorable milestones for Sony. In November 2019, with the milestone of 102.8 million units sold, PS4 surpassed PS1 to become the second best-selling console in history (only behind the iconic PS2).

Also in the past nearly a decade, PS4 also created the stormy development of PlayStation exclusive game lines. From Uncharted, The Last of Us, God of War to recently Marvel’s Spider-Man, all have created a powerful “empire” for Sony.

With the PlayStation 5 released, it looks like the PS4’s mission is complete. Now, this legendary system will have to retreat into the dark to make room for future generations.
