Capcom is reaping a lot of success from recently released games with great effort from RE Engine. As the name suggests, this engine is built on top of Resident Evil 7, and was recently used to develop Resident Evil 2 Remake and Devil May Cry V. Now, the publisher of 2018’s hottest game says it. are using the RE Engine for many of the titles in development.

In the Q&A after the company’s latest financials, Capcom was asked about future RE Engine titles. The publisher said that “while we can’t say exactly how many specific titles there are, there are a lot of franchises being developed using the RE Engine.”

We still don’t know what games they are, but one thing is for sure, Capcom is developing more Resident Evil after the recent success. With the latest DMC5, the RE Engine will bring even more success to the next Resident Evil titles.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is the only major game we know of Capcom is developing at the moment, and there’s a good chance there will be more RE Engine titles on the next-gen consoles.

In another Q&A session, Capcom said that “from the early stages of development of this engine, we have consistently maintained the ability to enhance it for next-generation development; therefore, we see RE Engine as one of our strengths to contribute to the next generation of games.” That shows that publishers have been carefully prepared when game technology is continuously getting more advanced.
