SK Gaming's CS:GO team is going to Immortals

SK Gaming’s Counter-Strike team will be changing organizations this year, according to a report from VPEsports. Currently considered the strongest CS:GO team in the world, SK plans to move to the North American organization Immortals. This move will take place in the second half of the year, after the players’ contracts expire.

This Brazilian team is always at the top of CS:GO rankings thanks to its stable performance throughout the year. Despite being eliminated in the quarterfinals at the Krakow Major in July and several top-four stops at events like EGS Mykonos and ESL One New York, the Brazilian boys quickly returned to form in the fall, winning a combined three LAN titles: EPICENTER in October, BLAST Pro Series in November and ESL Pro League Season 6 final in December. The team currently has not only the best player in the world (according to HLTV), but also the best player in the world. The best IGL in modern CS history is Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo.

SK’s move to Immortals will restore the North American organization’s glory in CS:GO. Immortals’ CS:GO roster began to disintegrate in September, when Vito “kNg” Giuseppe was dropped from the roster for controversial behavior on the final day of DreamHack Montreal. Following his death, the Teles twins Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles and Henrique “HEN1” Teles followed in their footsteps, causing Immortals to lose their Major’s Legend title. Towards the end of the year, Lucas “Steel” Lopes joined Team Liquid and Lincoln “fnx” Lau reunited with the previous Immortals trio at 100 Thieves, ending Immortals’ peak period in CS:GO.

Currently, SK Gaming is competing at ELEAGUE for the second Major title for the SK organization and the third for the core members of the team.
