Recently, Capcom released some pictures of Clare Redfield in Resident Evil 2 Remake. Claire was mostly absent from the game’s opening campaign, but now it looks like she’s ready to make an appearance. Claire hasn’t given her a full trailer yet, but some gameplay footage of the heroine has at least appeared online.
The video opens with Claire approaching Sherry Birkin, daughter of Dr. William Birkin of Umbrella Corporation. Her dialogue is interrupted when the monster “G”, formerly William Birkin, bursts into the room and intends to kill Claire. Claire then has to fight one of the two main enemies in Resident Evil 2 with a variety of weapons.
Claire is not a former STARS member like her brother Chris, but she can still fend off the dangers of Raccoon City on her own. Like the original, Claire can carry a lot of weapons with her. She comes with an SMG and a grenade launcher included, in addition to her shotgun/green combo. The damage that “G” actually takes is unknown, as the enemy has no health bar and is unharmed by the grenade blast wave. This change, along with the character’s appearance, are a few things different from the original Resident Evil 2. All the original had to do to take down the former “G” was a few shotgun shots.
The final scene in the video shows the encounter between Claire, Sherry and the corrupt sheriff, Brian Irons, of Raccoon City. It is currently unknown if Claire and Irons have met before in this patch, but it can be seen that he is completely unfriendly with the main character at all.
Capcom was once concerned about the Resident Evil 2 Remake, but now, it seems that anxiety has disappeared. The game looks great, and Resident Evil fans are giving it a warm welcome.
Resident Evil 2 will release on January 25, 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
