Resident Evil 2 Remake continues to release 16-minute gameplay about Leon

Capcom fans may still have to wait a bit longer to be able to play the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Recently, the developer has released a new gameplay trailer about the game. Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda sat down to play Resident Evil 2 at Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong, showing a gloomy, dark atmosphere and shocking scenes in the Raccoon City police headquarters.

The 16-minute trailer below begins with the character Leon S. Kennedy entering the lobby of the police headquarters. Leon will have to explore the headquarters, while facing dangers and many bloody scenes, while trying to rescue colleagues he has never met before.

Capcom seems to have excelled at recreating the tension and balance that we felt in the early parts of the Resident Evil series. Key game scenes are similar to the original Resident Evil 2, but mixed with modern graphics. In many areas, the lighting is reduced to the lowest level so that the player can’t see anything without turning on the flashlight, making these moments tense as the character moves slowly through.

As mentioned earlier, the Resident Evil 2 plot will change slightly from the original. Colleague police officer Marvin Branagh appears more in the game this time around, and even gives Leon his knife. Branagh’s knife will be useful in combat, helping Leon to withstand attacks from Zombies. Since Leon only has a pistol at first and the shotgun in the police station is locked, players will most likely have to rely on this knife a lot.

Capcom seems to have done the unthinkable when successfully creating a classic horror game with a modern perspective. Let’s wait and see if Resident Evil 2 can match its original.

Resident Evil 2 will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019.
