After a week of leaks and teasers, Bethesda has finally officially announced RAGE 2, which includes a new live-action trailer. Gameplay details for RAGE 2 will be announced soon as Bethesda releases the first trailer for the game. Other information including platform and launch time has not yet been released by the company.
An interesting news about RAGE 2 is that the game is co-developed by Avalanche Studios and id Software. Avalanche is famous for the Just Cause series as well as the Mad Max game. id is already well known, they are the developers of the original RAGE and reboot of Doom. RAGE 2 will be the first game developed by Avalanche and published by Bethesda.
Avalanche seems to be the studio leading the project, as the trailer shows that RAGE 2 will be an open-world shooter that includes vehicles. id can help with technology, style direction or studio id is actually much more impactful. It’s currently unknown if id’s main focus will be a sequel to the new Doom.
There are a lot of hints that can be drawn from the new live action trailer of RAGE 2, however, it still does not describe much about the game. But what we do know is that this post-apocalyptic shooter will be similar to the first. It is possible that the game will have a colorful world, with pink and yellow as the main colors in the last trailer. The duos in the trailer show a high possibility that the game will have a co-op or multiplayer mode.
The questions raised in the gameplay of RAGE 2 are whether the game will keep the first-person perspective like the original RAGE, or the third-person perspective like previous Avalanche titles. Bethesda’s German website details that Avalanche is famous for its open world games, so RAGE 2 will certainly have its own open world.
