Nintendo Direct revealed today that Blizzard’s hit shooter Overwatch will launch on Nintendo Switch on October 15 in a surprise announcement.

With this notice, Overwatch become one of the few top online games available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC.

Two years ago, the game’s director Jeff Kaplan expressed his interest in the development Overwatch for Nintendo Switch in regards to concurrent cross-platform patches and game performance. But it seems the team has found a solution to this problem.

The announcement was the first to be revealed during the live, with the game slated to release on Nintendo Switch on October 15. You can check out the trailer from the video below provided by Overwatch.

In the trailer, you can also notice a hint of how controls will be supported on Nintendo’s handheld console – something similar to Fortnite praised when used on the Switch.
