Besides Highlander Priest, Jade Druid, and big decks, Tempo Rogue dominated the meta in the late stages of Knights of the Frozen Throne. The strategy of using Pirates to capture the table and play quality monsters according to the curve has proven to be very effective. Adding buffs from Prince Keleseth (sometimes 2 or 3 times) is not only a win condition, but also causes many opponents to rage quit early in the match.

For a lot of reasons, Tempo Rogue is one of KoFT’s standout decks. And in the latest expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs, Rogue also received the best cards of this version. The Lesser Onyx Spellstone hasn’t been played much, but Elven Minstrel has proven its power unexpectedly. Other cards, like Fal’dorei Strider, on the contrary, their strength have been predicted since Blizzard revealed. Not only are they strong individually, Rogue’s K&C cards are geared towards the multi-card play typical of this class. As a result, Rogue is now in the meta with four decks: Mill, Miracle, Tempo and Weapon.

Not only that, players also create a deck with many Pirates and weapon buffs, and this can be considered a new deck: Kingsbane Rogue.

Whether you’re adding Kingsbane to an existing deck or a completely new deck, Kingsbane seems to be present in all well-drawn Rogue decks. The gameplay of Rogue decks (except Tempo Rogue) is multi-card draw, and a weapon that is returned to the deck after being destroyed is a great synergy for this gameplay. However, Kolento also proved the effectiveness of this weapon in the Tempo Rogue deck with Captain Greenskin and his pirate crew. This makes Kingsbane the most versatile tool in the Rogue class. Rdu’s Miracle Rogue Deck uses 2 Deadly Poisons to buff Kingsbane, but even that is pretty significant. A 3/3 weapon is great for keeping the table in the big Auctioneer turns. Kingsbane reduces the number of clearing spells that you should use and use when playing Auctioneer to get more cards. The potential to aid clearing, draw, and reuse upon destruction makes Kingsbane a considerable resource – well worth several 1 mana uses to play it.

Weapon Rogue: something new

Doomerang can trade your weapon with your opponent’s monster without costing health, also activate the combo effect of Vilespine Slayer or Eviscerate and return Kingsbane to the hand, and you can use Kingsbane later turn to activate combo cards once again. Be careful with your remaining health when making decisions, and consider win conditions to use Kingsbane and interactive cards properly.

The two Corridor Creeper in this Rogue deck is also a good choice. This deck was built by Kolento on the first day of K&C, but the purple worm had not yet been proven to be powerful, so it didn’t appear. After a few turns with it in hand, it easily becomes a 0 mana 5/5 minion, helping to trigger combo cards like Edwin VanCleef or Eviscerate.

This deck is not very cheap, but if you already have a Pirate set in hand, try playing Weapon Rogue because it is very interesting. The fact that the deck has many weapon buff cards instead of the usual Miracle playstyle also makes your deck more unpredictable.

Mill Rogue: psychological warfare

The variety of Rogue decks is very beneficial to all players of this class, as the element of surprise can lead the mulligan opponent to err as well as play incorrectly the first few turns. Mill Rogue is the deck that benefits the most from this.
