Recently, famous Fortnite streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins created a big shock when he announced that he had left Twitch to stream exclusively on Mixer, Microsoft’s streaming platform. The announcement was made on his Twitter account with him answering questions posed. Ninja says Mixer will allow him to return to his original values and that he will continue to deliver the same quality of content. However, one question that Ninja completely avoids is the contract and the amount to jump to Mixer.
Ninja makes tons of money streaming on Twitch. As a recent interview revealed, he made nearly $10 million playing Fortnite on Twitch in 2018. In other words, Mixer must have come at a very high price. Another Twitch streamer, Forsen, talked about Ninja’s contract. It should be noted that this is just Forsen’s prediction and estimation, but with his streaming experience since 2011, he can probably come up with some reliable numbers.
Speaking of Forsen, real name is Sebastian Hans Eli Fos, he is a Swedish streamer, famous for playing Starcraft 2 and Hearthstone. Forsen is currently the 17th most subs streamer on Twitch, as of early 2019. So, we can understand Forsen’s estimate of Ninja’s contract is also somewhat reliable.
Forsen said the contract is likely to be three years because shorter is not worth signing, longer could miss out on major esports trends emerging in the coming years. Additionally, Forsen estimates Ninja’s contract to be somewhere between $6 million and $8 million, and when combined with sponsors, there’s a good chance he’ll make at least as much money as he’s currently on Twitch.
While the move to Mixer was a surprise announcement, it seems that his fans continue to switch to Mixer to follow their favorite streamer.
