Last Year: The Nightmare first appeared at PAX East 2018 and was playable at the event, but since then, little is known about the project. This changed this past week when Elastic Games updated the survival game’s information on its website with 12 screenshots depicting everything killers to locations players will pass in the East Side High School.
The basic gameplay of Last Year: The Nightmare is a group of 5 young people trapped in a parallel world of their home town Forest Hills. This is obviously a pretty scary situation, but it’s not the scariest yet.
Things quickly change when the group arrives at their school and discovers they are not alone in this world. There was no outside help nor the possibility of an immediate escape. If they want to survive, the young people will have to fight the killer who is hunting.
With new visuals for the game, we’re getting a bit more information about the killers and the environments they’ll hunt in. If East Side High School’s halls and classrooms show anything, it’s that these killers have been very successful in the past. There was so much blood splattered on the walls and floors, that this group of young people were not the first victims. Regarding the group of young people, you will have something to protect yourself. The game is not the same as Friday the 13th; Each side has its own skills and weaknesses.
Each killer has its own unique characteristics. “The Giant”, big and mighty. “Stalker” always wears a strange hat, and “Slasher” is a signature symbol in slasher horror movies.
Last Year: The Nightmare was playable earlier this year, so the official launch time of the game will still fall around this fall. Dead by Daylight did the same thing, but this new title could be different enough to give it its own space in the horror game space.
