Guerrilla Games released a new patch for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC last Wednesday. Patch 1.02 follow-up to patch 1.01 released last Friday, with the aim of solving the problem game crash.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s two game crashes are both related to the game’s shader optimization, the patch will fix this issue. The game crashed while doing optimization, this happened right in the first release. The second case occurs after installing a new GPU driver.

Update 1.02 also fixes performance/optimization. 1.02 improves performance when the game is auto-saving, which often causes the game to drop in frame rate or lag. The new patch also addresses an issue where character animations are out of sync at speeds above 30fps.
