A strict punishment for those who take advantage of YouTube for profit.
Recently, a federal court in Florida, USA has just accused two men, Jose “Chanel” Teran, 36, and Webster “Yenddi” Batista, 38, of profiting from YouTube royalties of $ 20 million. To commit the offence, Teran and Batista founded MediaMuv and “received” their wife’s intellectual property rights to more than 50,000 songs in Spanish.
The criminal action of the two defendants mentioned above began in 2017. Many Spanish-language songs have been used by Teran and Batista to exploit Google’s legal loopholes. Authorities avoided estimating the figure as high as $20 million. The song Me Llamas alone has brought 2 more than $ 100,000 through 700 million views on YouTube.
Currently, Teran and Batista have been charged with 30 different counts including electronic fraud, money laundering and identity theft… and face a cumulative 37-year prison sentence and fines of up to $250,000 each. .
