The crack in the Fortnite sky has begun to close, but that doesn’t mean things will return to normal. In update 5.30, the crack was mostly closed and turned a mysterious purple color. Even more frightening is that players around the world are starting to see lightning strikes. You can check it out in the LootLake clip below.

Like the meteor shower in Season 3, purple lightning is popping up all over the map, seemingly in a completely random fashion. Along with the return of Tomatohead, there could be an important event coming up.
Update
It turns out that lightning bolts are hitting a mountain top in a desert area with increasing frequency. At the top of this mountain are cacti arranged in a circle, each time a lightning strikes a tree is destroyed. When all is broken, something unexpected will definitely happen.

2nd update
Purple lightning summoned a giant purple cube. On the cube are mysterious symbols, and if you touch the cube you will bounce high. Standing near the cube will slowly replenish your shield, and shooting at it will create sparks.

The mysterious giant cube is moving slowly across the map. According to Fortnite Battle Royale News then its current speed is one ‘step’ every 1 hour 43 minutes. You can watch the cube move in the video below.
