Since the 50v50 mode ended fairly early in December, developer Epic Games has been holding events for Fortnite’s free-to-play Battle Royale mode, and it will continue for the foreseeable future. The latest information from the official website, Epic games revealed the upcoming events that Fortnite Battle Royale intends to include, including the 50v50 mode.
According to Epic, there will be about five game modes taking place in Fortnite: Battle Royale “in the next month or so.” The developer has not detailed which events will take place first, or when they will appear, but at least one of those modes will be 50v50. Unlike the old version, Epic says this 50v50 will be “more like the 50v50 experience in the trailer,” with dropouts and separate buses for each team.
In addition, Epic plans to hold a Blitz Mode event in Battle Royale – with matches that are shorter than usual. Epic also introduced features with the size of 50v50 teams or squads (groups of 4 people). Details of the new modes in Fortnite: Battle Royale can be found on the Epic website.
In addition to the above modes, Epic will also add a few new items to Battle Royale. These items include a Chinese Dragon Glider version, an astronaut costume, and a wooden horse Pickaxe (Llama Unicorn Pickaxe). Epic hasn’t announced when they’ll be available in Battle Royale, but has shared some photos.
Fortnite’s Shooting Test #1 is currently happening on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, after the Sniper Shootout event ended. Prior to that, Epic added an update to Battle Royale earlier this week, introducing more crossbows to the game. The publisher also brought the ski set into the Battle Royale to celebrate the upcoming Winter Olympic event.
