Fortnite finally adds Jetpack to week 5’s limited event

It looks like Fortnite is finally ready to add a Jetpack to its Battle Royale mode. Information from the game’s data shows that the week 5 challenge will let players use jetpacks. That means this item could appear early in the game next week.

While rummaging through Fortnite game data, FNBRLeaks found info about week 5 with a quest that says, “Use jetpack”. In addition, this file also hints at a jetpack and shotgun-specific mode called “Close Encounters”.

With the above information, it is likely that the jetpack will only be available in this Close Encounters mode and not in Fortnite Battle Royale. Much like the Thanos event in Infinity Gauntlet, players will have the opportunity to try completely new things, while not disrupting the balance in the game’s Battle Royale mode.

For those who remember a few months ago, Fortnite promised to add a jetpack, but when testing the item internally, the team discovered a few glitches. Developer Epic Games did not say exactly what these problems are, but some predict it affects visibility as well as affects game quality for low-end consoles and PCs.

After a while, jetpack was no longer mentioned by Epic games, everyone thought it was forgotten.
