Fall Guys Officially Becomes F2P Game From Next Month

Fall Guys will free release and “move house” to Epic Games Store on June 21. This is Fall Guys’ first release on console platforms and this is important because the game supports cross-play and saves progress across all platforms.

After moving, new players will not be able to download Fall Guys on Valve’s platform. However, players who own the Steam version will continue to receive the same updates as the Epic Games Store.

Fall Guys debut comes with many new elements such as Season 1, the Show-Bucks in-game currency, and something advertised by developer Mediatonic as a “major update” to the progression system. Season 1 is aptly titled “Free For All” (Free for everyone) and will feature a huge arena with new events and locations.

Existing players will receive a “Legacy Pack” when Fall Guys launches as F2P. This package includes a variety of fashion items and Season Pass free. New players can purchase Season Pass with Show-Bucks and use old Kudos to unlock existing free battle pass.

Fall Guys was released in August 2020 and was a smash hit. The game’s success spurred Epic Games’ acquisition of developer Mediatonic, and since then Fall Guys has started following a similar operating model to Fortnite with new crossover events, modes, and seasons.
